The Universe is Working Diligently for You
Submitted by theunconvention... on Thu, 09/02/2010 - 6:39pm
Well, if you didn’t know by now, I got a new job. *HOORAY!* I’ve managed to work my way up to finding a full-time can of awesomeness where I get to do what I am most passionate about. All. Day. Long. It’s kind of weird to tell you the truth. I’m so used to doing a million and one different jobs everyday that when I’m left alone to create my masterpieces (modest much?) I’m left wondering why nobody is bothering me. Ha.
How to "Escape" in a Completely Different Way

It’s pretty rare that I step into the gym without my iPod. Actually, I never go in the gym without some type of music, and this past Sunday was no different. Only this time, I took my phone because I’ll be honest, I’m obsessed with Grooveshark and I wanted to run to some playlists I had created earlier in the week. However, when I got on the treadmill, my phone went crazy and it wouldn't load ANY apps what-so-ever (don't worry, Grooveshark, it wasn't your fault). I actually even thought about leaving (haha) but decided to just try really hard to have a good run without any music.
My Dreams Are Either Telling Me Amazing Things Are Coming or I’m Just Crazy.
Submitted by theunconvention... on Wed, 08/11/2010 - 7:08pmSo, I’m not much of one to check my daily horoscope or look up what my dreams mean, but recently, I’ve had a handful of dreams that have been pretty freakin’ vivid and have stuck with me. So, I took the really important “things” from each dream and looked them up. It’s pretty interesting.

I Have a Sneaky Feeling
Submitted by theunconvention... on Wed, 08/04/2010 - 10:51pmI was re-reading some of my recent posts and noticed they've been a little blue lately. The past couple weeks have been difficult and quite frankly sometimes doesn't feel like it's going to get better. Take Monday for example. I found out my recent car troubles are "urgent" and will cost me close to $1,000. Yikes. Or today when my printer had a hissy fit and decided it just wanted to show off its blinking red light instead of printing my sister's baby shower invitations that should have been sent out a month ago.
*THE* Looming Question on My Mind

When I was a little kid, I remember going to stores with my Mom and Dad pointing at EVERYTHING and just saying, “I want that!” Wait. Who am I kidding, I still do that. =) BUT…when you’re a kid, it always feels like you’ll just DIE if you don’t get that new shirt, video game, or piece of jewelry. At least that’s how I always felt. (Please tell me you did too – I really don’t want to feel abnormal here haha.) Well, as I mentioned, I haven't exactly outgrown this lovely trait but I can say that I have really worked towards trying to be more patient and less, "GIVE THIS TO ME RIGHT NOW." It works only sometimes. Hey, I never said I was perfect. =)
On the Road Again

Last week I had the pleasure of going on a ROAD TRIP with my parents. Yes, my parents. =) We were driving up to Virginia for a good friend of mine's wedding. We haven’t taken a road trip like this in a long, LONG time. When I was younger we would always drive whenever we would go visit our family in Indiana and Boston. There are way too many people in our family so driving was always the more logical choice. And even though these trips were always long and tiring, we always had a fun time. My favorite van that we used to have was this blue
The Least You Need to Know
Submitted by theunconvention... on Wed, 05/05/2010 - 12:55pmI do NOT know how people who get migraines on a regular basis deal with that. For the past week, I’ve woken up every day with a headache and then proceed to get approximately 2-3 more throughout the day. =( I went through my normal list of why I could possibly be getting so many (no, Mom, my ponytail isn’t too tight) =) and I really can’t figure it out.
I Left My Heart in San Francisco
Submitted by theunconvention... on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 4:42pmIn addition to my BIG dream of just simply GOING to California, my other dream (as silly as this may sound) was to ride a bike in California. =)
I really didn’t have any specifications about where to ride it, but I had to sing In the Summertime” by Mungo Jerry and just take in my surroundings. We rented bikes at the Bike and Roll and took an adventure! Our “little” adventure was going to be about a 10 mile bike for us but I was really excited – helmet and all.
As we started off near Fisherman’s Wharf, we got to go through all the different parts of San Francisco….up the hills, overlooking the bay, through the marina, down on Chrissy beach, and finally to the Golden Gate Bridge. It felt like ALL week we’d just seen it – from Coit Tower, Alcatraz, the Cable Cars, walking around the piers, and the bay cruise – so, we were most definitely excited that we were going to be ON IT!
The Guided Path vs. The Unguided Path
Submitted by theunconvention... on Tue, 04/13/2010 - 10:44pmWell, it is finally that time. I’m leaving for San Francisco this weekend to attend DrupalConSF and can I just say that I AM SO EXCITED! This is the FIRST official “cross-off” on my vision board for 2010 and I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking to my goals and MAKING IT HAPPEN. Not only will I be with my fellow designing and development geeks for a few days, but I’ll be taking some extended time there to enjoy and explore the city with my friends.
Heart on a String

Well, as I mentioned on Monday, the flu graced me with its ugly presence last week. I’ve never had the flu before, and I’m pretty confident when I say, I hope I never have it again – hah. Even though there were lots of bad things from the flu, there were definitely some good things that happened…
- I renewed my vows with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It is basically the greatest sandwich out there (only if you use strawberry jam though).
