Dear Dark Clouds - Shove It!

I kind of can’t believe it’s been almost a whole month since I blogged about trying to be Superwoman and crying over desserts. I can honestly say I’ve made no effort what-so-ever in the past month to be Superwoman, nor have I recently cried over dessert. Although, I DID make a delicious low-fat cake last night – pshhh who needs cupcakes anyway? (Kidding – I need cupcakes … lots of cupcakes…). I digress. =)

In the land of trolleys, cable cars, bikes, and boats!

Wow. What a fantastic week in San Francisco! I’m honestly not even really sure where to start! I had been planning this trip since last summer…right after I knew about DrupalCon Paris. Knowing there was no way possible I was going to be able to swing Paris, I set out to attend the next one in San Francisco.

I’ve wanted to go to California my entire life and DrupalCon seemed like a great bridge to make that dream come true. When I was in high school, I wanted to move there to go to school but as a youngin’ =) I was convinced by many it wasn’t a good choice, so I passed up the opportunity. And as you can imagine, as the trip came closer and closer, my anticipation grew so big I could barely sit still the week prior to leaving.

I'm a pro at zipping!

So, last week, I asked you to do me a favor and go explore, and do something adventurous or new – so I’m here to report back with my adventures from last week! Over the weekend, I went ZIPLINING! Or… as the pro’s say, “zipping.” And I’m definitely a pro now soooooooooooo let’s start again.

Take time to explore...

For those of you who don't know, I work primarily with educators. Yay! I interact, share, and learn so much from them everyday. One of the *coolest* parts of my job is that I get to play. Yep! I get to play with tons of cutting edge and really awesome resources that teachers use in the classroom.

My new favorite one is Prezi. It's a modern spin on PowerPoint. And quite frankly, in my opinion, it's pretty freakin' cool. So, today, I'm giving you my blog post through Prezi! :)

You got what you wanted

I think the last time I heard that saying was in a snarky "na-ne-na-ne-boo-boo" voice from one of my siblings. But last night I was chatting with my roomie/best friend/honorary sister/most amazing person ever -- telling her all my crazy stories of the day, when I realized...

I'm getting what I want.

Um...scary.

I declare a sick day

I love being sick. Well, not the sneezing, congested head, cough, and plain ol’ feeling like CRAP. Ok, actually I really hate being sick. But there is one thing I really do love about being sick. I love how when you’re sick the whole entire world just stops. Have you ever noticed that? Those Christmas decorations you still haven’t taken down? It can be Christmas for a few days longer. That pile of clean clothes that needs to be put away?

A special note for you

By the time you get around to reading this, you'll probably already be busy with all of your holiday traditions - getting ready for church, reading "The Night Before Christmas," playing board games, singing, or just snuggled up on the couch.

But whatever it is you're doing, I just want to take two minutes of your time to say thank you. Thank you for reading my blog, for the conversations, for the support, and for your friendship.

I'll have a Sprite with that, please!

I flew to Virginia over the weekend to help one of my best friends plan her wedding. I’m in that “everyone I know is getting married” year (hers will be #5!)

Sneaking smoothies into a movie made my day.

I was driving up to Gainesville early this morning and it hit me that it’s really Thanksgiving again. Wow. Seriously? I’m not sure how this year has flown by so fast that we’re already worrying about holiday traffic and planning what time to set the coffee maker for the day after Thanksgiving shopping. Or how we’re already figuring out what color hand turkey we’re going to make and eating ourselves to a complete food coma just in time to catch some afternoon football.

"I have an angel on my shoulder but a devil in my head"

I ventured down to Miami this weekend to see Kaskade at the Mansion. Kaskade is the stage name for Ryan Reddon - a DJ/Producer/Remixer/Artist. Words really can't describe how amazing it was to see him live. Even though I'm not a big fan of the Miami scene, his vibe and passion was INCREDIBLE. And a year ago, I didn't even like this style music but now I really can't get enough. So, give it a shot, and check out some of my favorites:
